Activity Description: Describe in as much detail as possible.

 

 

What do you want the students to learn?

 

  • Students will identify natural resources found on the school campus.
  • Students will describe the importance of the material and classify as renewable, non renewable, and inexhaustible

 

 

 

Set-up

 

  • Science journals/notebooks
  • Digital cameras

 

 

 

What steps will the students take?

 

  • Students find examples of various natural resources on campus.
  • Students take digital photos of each.
  • Students sketch resource in science journal.
  • Students label/classify as R, N, or I.

 

 

 

Extra Activities?

 

  • Write about how life would be different if a particular resource didn’t exist.
  • Trace objects in classroom back to natural resource it came from.
  • Research effects of loss of certain natural resources; example, rainforests being cut down.
