Activity Description: Describe in as much detail as possible.
What do you want the students to learn?
- Students will identify natural resources found on the school campus.
- Students will describe the importance of the material and classify as renewable, non renewable, and inexhaustible
Set-up
- Science journals/notebooks
- Digital cameras
What steps will the students take?
- Students find examples of various natural resources on campus.
- Students take digital photos of each.
- Students sketch resource in science journal.
- Students label/classify as R, N, or I.
Extra Activities?
- Write about how life would be different if a particular resource didn’t exist.
- Trace objects in classroom back to natural resource it came from.
- Research effects of loss of certain natural resources; example, rainforests being cut down.
