Activity Description: Describe in as much detail as possible.
What do you want the students to learn?
- TLW be able to record distance and range of various locations connected to science.
- TLW create a bar graph recording the elevations.
- TLW connect science and math.
Set-up
What steps will the students take?
- Find waypoints and take pictures of locations connected to science (weathering, erosion, etc.).
- Record the distance to the hundredth as they track each point.
- Create a bar graph to record the elevations of each point.
- Find the range of elevations.
- Find the median of elevations.
- Find the average elevation.
- Find the mean elevation, if any.
Extra Activities?
- Work with scientist in local area.
- Have students create an inventory map.
- Use Google Earth to view each part.
