Activity Description: Describe in as much detail as possible.

What do you want the students to learn?

  • Be able to identify wind/water erosion including rills, looking closely at areas where concrete has been poured.

Set-up

  • GPS unit
  • Log book/journal
  • Digital camera
  • Ruler as size indicator

What steps will the students take?

  • Students will walk around the school grounds and identify forms of erosion and deposition.
  • Using main menu – mark each location and take a picture of each (will need at least 2 pictures per location).
  • Correlate that erosion is going to occur where man has altered the natural environment.

Extra Activities?

  • Use Google Earth to show large scale erosion/deposition.
