Activity Description: Describe in as much detail as possible.
What do you want the students to learn?
- Be able to identify wind/water erosion including rills, looking closely at areas where concrete has been poured.
Set-up
- GPS unit
- Log book/journal
- Digital camera
- Ruler as size indicator
What steps will the students take?
- Students will walk around the school grounds and identify forms of erosion and deposition.
- Using main menu – mark each location and take a picture of each (will need at least 2 pictures per location).
- Correlate that erosion is going to occur where man has altered the natural environment.
Extra Activities?
- Use Google Earth to show large scale erosion/deposition.
