Activity Description: Describe in as much detail as possible.

 

 

What do you want the students to learn?

 

  • Interpret how land forms result from constructive and destructive forces.

 

 

 

Set-up

 

  • Find different examples of weathering and erosion of landforms on Google Earth (Grand Canyon, Tent Rocks, deltas, etc…).

 

 

 

What steps will the students take?

 

  • Discuss GPS, basics on how it works.
  • Explain Google Earth and go to first picture.
  • Have students predict what might have caused the landforms (pan the picture).
  • Discuss what weathering, erosion, and deposition has really take place.

 

 

 

Extra Activities?

 

  • Take students outside to take pictures of weathering, erosion, and deposition.
