Activity Description: Describe in as much detail as possible.
What do you want the students to learn?
- Students will be able to explain the phases of the moon by using digital camera images and the GPS.
Set-up
- GPS, one month grid for recording, digital camera
- Set up a set time for recording in each class.
What steps will the students take?
- Students will use GPS for recording daily sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moon set. Record data in journal.
- Students will take digital pictures of the moon at three different times in the day. Record day and time and draw a picture in the journal.
- Students will chart and graph results of first item on big posters.
- Students will create powerpoint of digital pictures.
Extra Activities?
- Classes will compare data. Students will look for a pattern over a period of one month.
