Activity Description: Describe in as much detail as possible.

 

 

What do you want the students to learn?

 

  • Students will learn the different type of plants that can be grown in the Southeastern region of Texas.
  • Students will plant and grow a flower and vegetable seed of choice.

 

 

 

Set-up

 

  • Computer icon to Google Earth
  • Digital Camera
  • Journal and pencil

 

 

 

What steps will the students take?

 

  • Teacher will begin with a read aloud regarding plants and explain plant guide groups will be provided.
  • Groups will use GPS to record where plant was found on school ground and draw a picture in journal.
  • Take pictures of different plants to make a class plant guide book.
  • Use internet to research type of plant and its usefulness.

 

 

 

Extra Activities?

 

  • Add images to Google Earth of student’s adventure for them to track their nature walk.
