Activity Description: Describe in as much detail as possible.
What do you want the students to learn?
- Students will be able to locate coordinates and use navigational skills as they follow a treasure hunt map.
Set-up
- Set up markers outside along track/playground.
- Give starting location and instructions for direction of 2nd marker.
- Reset GPS units (or have students do this).
What steps will the students take?
- Students will use Satellite on GPS at first marker. They will record coordinates and read direction on marker as to where to head for marker number 2.
- Students will then use Navigation on GPS to head toward second marker where they will record coordinate.
- Continue for as many markers as you have time.
- Last marker – Prize.
Extra Activities?
